St. Mother Teresa’s School situated at Nazirpur under Tehatta-I Block and Tehatta P.S. in the civil district of Nadia in West Bengal, established on 7th. January, 2018 is administered by the Registered society of Roman Catholic Diocese of Krishnagar through the leadership of the Parish Priest of Howlia Parish.
The school is named in honour of Mother Teresa of Calcutta, whose life was dedicated to the betterment of the poor, neglected, sick and dying. Mother Teresa often said that a worthwhile life is one that is lived in the service of others. It is this notion of servant leadership that we hope to instil in our children. The school management will, in due time, seek its recognition from the education department of West Bengal and affiliation from Indian Certificate School Examination, New Delhi. Although the school is meant for the Christian students, the provision is made for the admission of non-Christian students. Lessons on moral principles and conduct will be given to students, irrespective of caste and creed.
The students who will be admitted in Pre-Nursery and, L.K.G, this year will go up to class X, and the students seeking admission in upper classes will have to qualify the strict entrance test.
The aim of the institution is to impart a sound education to the students by forming in them habits of virtue, discipline, and self-efficiency to become useful and dutiful citizens of their motherland.
St. Mother Teresa’s School will prepare the students for the ICSE examination, which will be taken at the end of class X. The curriculum includes English, History-Civics, Geography, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Computer science, Art / Account, Craft, Singing, Physical Training, Bible History and Value education. Bengali and Hindi will be compulsory subjects as vernaculars in the language scheme of secondary education. The school will try its very best to teach the students using the play way method and other advanced methods, to handle English effectively as a written and spoken language.
